When do we return the boat?
You must return the boat before 5:00pm on the last day of your rental. The fuel dock closes promptly at 5:00pm, and you must top off the fuel and oil before returning to our dock.
What happens if I return the boat after 5:00pm?
If you miss the gas dock on the last day of your rental we will refuel the boat in the morning and charge your credit card for the fuel, oil and $50 late fee.
When can I operate the boat?

Where can the boats be taken?
The boats are restricted to the Sea of Abaco only. Our boundaries are Manjack Cay to the North and Elbow Cay to the South.
How far will the boats go?
All our boats leave the dock with a full tank of fuel and oil. This will last for several days of operation. The oil level will be depleted before you run out of fuel. Monitor the fuel and oil levels and top off at any of the fuel stations at any of the cays, or the Treasure Cay Fuel Station on the way out of the Treasure Cay Marina.
Why are the 4 stroke boats more expensive?
The 4 stroke engines are more expensive to purchase and this is reflected in the rental rates. They burn about 1/3 less fuel and there is no oil to buy. The savings in fuel and oil is often more than the difference in the rental rate.
If I do not have any boating experience, can I rent a boat?
Yes, but you will need a local guide. The guide will be responsible for the boat.
Do the boats have a GPS?
No. We provide you with charts of the area and can help you plan your days. All operations will be within site of land and easily navigated.
Do the boats have depth sounders?
No. It is more important to watch the colours of the waters. The depth sounder will only tell you the water is shallow after you have passed over the reef.
Are there public docks on all the cays and islands?
Yes. And restaurants allow you to dock at their facilities. Most docks want you to use a stern anchor. We can show you on the charts where the public docks are located.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Our boats are Bahamian registered so you do not need a fishing license. The Bahamian fishing regulations are available at our dock.
How much fuel will I use?
This will vary depending on the boat, how far you go, the speed, the number of people on the boat, the amount of gear on the boat and the weather. A typical day on a 2 stroke boat will consume about 12 to 18 gallons of fuel and a quart to a quart and a half of oil. A 4 stroke burns about 1/3 less fuel and there is no oil to buy.
Will going slower save on fuel?
Yes, to a point. To be fuel efficient the boat must be fully up on plane (riding up on the water). Below 3,300 RPMs the boat will not be fully up on plane. The best fuel efficiency will be between 3,700 RPMs and 4,000 RPMs. The boats should not be operated above 4,500 RPMs for your personal safety and the safety of the engine.
How fast are the boats?
Fast enough. The boats will all provide you with a comfortable cruising speed of around 25 miles per hour. On the water that is fast enough. Remember, you are on island time.
